Well as you can tell from this, and the two previous posts, Phaedra and I are back from our trip down south. Every other year we’re suppose to spend Christmas (and subsequently Phaedra’s birthday) with my family in Miami. They live in Kendall on one of the few lakes not connected to the canals (and therefore safe to swim (unless you really like alligators)). Today my Indian coworkers brought in homemade delicacies to celebrate Diwali. We had various starters, Puri (fried, puffed, unleavened whole grain bread), 2 different biryanis (basmati rice dishes), vegetable curry, stuffed chili peppers, and lots of homemade deserts. Yesterday Phaedra & I, Kurt & Diane & kids, and Curtis went down to PA to spend the afternoon. The kids turned into prunes (in the pool) and the rest of us feasted on pate, bruschetta, curried chicken, spicy mushrooms and steaks. Read the rest of this entry »
